WATERBURY - City police arrested a 14-year-old student after finding a BB gun at Gilmartin Elementary School, 94 Spring Lake Road.

Officers responded Tuesday after school staff notified police that a student was suspected of bringing a firearm into the school, police said Wednesday.

After more investigation, officers found the BB gun inside the student's book bag, which was in the teen's locker. The student was arrested on charges of second-degree breach of peace, weapons on school grounds and brandishing a facsimile firearm.
