Former NFL Quarterback Proposes 'Awful' Matthew Stafford Trade

With the Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers all facing issues of their own through the first couple weeks of the season, Chase Daniel believes he has a trade that could fix it all.

On Wednesday's episode of FS1's "The Facility," Daniel floated the idea of the Dolphins making a move for Rams QB Matthew Stafford in a three-team trade that would shake things up for everyone involved.

"I don't think the Dolphins should go after Bryce Young; they should go after Matthew Stafford," the 11-year NFL vet said. "Three-team trade. Bryce [Young] needs to be traded to the Rams for Stafford, going back to the Dolphins in a three-team trade. Rams get Bryce Young, Sean McVay, they have Jimmy G starting for a little bit. You're telling me Bryce Young can't be successful in a scheme like Sean McVay's scheme? Absolutely, he can. The Panthers get some picks, and the Dolphins get Matthew Stafford."

Fans weren't exactly blown away by the imaginary deal on social media.

"What is @ChaseDaniel smoking?" a user asked. "No way the Rams do this trade ... Get this man off of TV."

"Free James Jones from this show," a viewer replied.

"Why the hell would the Rams do this?" a fan wondered.

"This is an awful trade for the Rams," another pointed out.

"The Rams trade a hall of fame caliber QB for a bust and wind up losing a 3rd?" said Jakob Sanderson.

"how would Miami even have money left??"

"What is with all the Stafford trade scenarios? Rams go 0-2 mostly due to injuries and the media starts talking crazy."

The Rams have suffered some tough breaks to start the year with the losses of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

But it's hard to imagine anyone in the Rams front office signing off on this one.
