These shelled pistachios have earned a spot in my snack lineup!
I am a huge snacker. Whether it's a granola bar, some popcorn or a bowl of frozen fruit, I always have a snack or two at my desk while I'm working. As such, I'm always looking for new healthy snacks to add to my rotation to keep things interesting.
Lately, I've been digging into trail mixes and nuts, so when I got the opportunity to try some pistachios from Setton Farms, I was very excited! Growing up, pistachios were one of my favorite snacks since my family always purchased huge bags of them from Costco. We packed them in resealable Ziploc bags to enjoy for school lunches, road trips or in between extracurricular activities, but to be honest, they haven't made an appearance in my kitchen in a while.

If you didn't know, pistachios have a plethora of health benefits since they are packed with protein, healthy fats and essential vitamins and minerals. Some of the positive impacts of eating them regularly include promoting a healthy gut, as well as supporting healthy blood pressure. The nuts are also high in fiber, a nutrient that can help lower your risk of heart disease and help you feel fuller longer. With all this in mind, I was more than happy to give these pistachios a chance.
One thing I appreciate about the Setton Farms nuts is the accessibility. Since they are already shelled, I don't have to spend any time trying to pry them open, which makes them ideal for a quick bite on the go. Another plus is that the bags are resealable. Since each bag contains about five servings, I like that I can simply seal them up without risking any loss of flavor or texture.

A final benefit-and perhaps the most appealing-is that there are plenty of unique flavors. I received several samples, including Buffalo Wing, Garlic & Onion, Chili Limón and Scorpion Pepper. I haven't yet worked up the courage to try the Scorpion Pepper-flavored nuts, but the rest were delicious. My personal favorite was the Buffalo Wing flavor which had the perfect amount of spicy tang. The Garlic & Onion flavor was a close second and this blend was also lower in sodium at 135 milligrams in comparison to the Buffalo Wing flavor, which had 310 milligrams. I was surprisingly fond of the Chili Limón flavored pistachios, thanks to a great balance of heat and acidity.
If you're a fan of seasoned nuts like I am, these pistachios are worth the try. I've already added them to my shopping list-and I'm planning to give some to my family as holiday gifts as well!
