About a million New Jersey residents have received their ANCHOR benefits already, state officials said.
More than 900,000 benefits sent by direct deposit should have hit bank accounts on Thursday, Oct. 10, the Treasury Department said Tuesday. Another 100,000 checks were mailed on Friday, Oct. 11, the agency said.
Most of the payments that went out in this first round went to people whose applications were filed automatically by the state. But it didn't go to everyone who received the notification letter, which the agency said went out to more than 1.5 million people.
Don't worry if you didn't get your payment yet.
"Payments will be distributed on a rolling basis until all eligible applicants receive their benefit," the Treasury Department said.
It said most people will get their ANCHOR payments within 90 days of applying. But for some -- if the Treasury Department needs more information from you -- it may take longer.

In addition to the auto-filed 1.5 million applications, the state said it's received about 225,000 new applications.
The last ANCHOR benefit paid out more than $2.1 billion to more than 1.8 million homeowners and renters, the state said.
