Nothing says autumn in New England like apple picking, corn mazes and hay rides -- and for Bay Staters, there are a number of spots to ring in the fall season a little ways off the beaten path.
For those seeking acres of corn to get lost in (and of course, found again), you may have to travel a little farther out than you would for a wagon ride and some cider doughnuts.
The trek is just a small part of the journey -- especially when you could be spending anywhere from 30 minutes, to three hours exploring fields of corn stalks nearly six feet tall.
For Bay Staters hoping to get away for a day and explore one of Massachusetts' sprawling corn mazes, MassLive has put together a list of some venues across each part of the state.
These fields have garnered attention online for a number of reasons -- whether it be for its convenient location, elaborate designs, size or amenities.

At Connors Farm, guests have the opportunity to explore a seven-acre cornfield and go apple picking and pumpkin picking.
Located at 30 Valley Road, Connors Farm is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Guests can explore the maze anytime between Aug. 31, and Nov. 3. Visitors feeling a little more adventurous can try out the "Flashlight Maze" option -- a non-haunt attraction "suitable for all ages."
The flashlight maze is offered on weekends only and is available starting Friday, Sept. 29, through Sunday, Oct. 8, and Halloween. Flashlights are not provided.
A haunted corn maze attraction is offered on Saturday and Sundays starting Friday, Oct. 4, and ends Saturday, Oct. 26, with the exceptions of also being open on Sunday, Oct. 13, and Halloween.
The flashlight maze costs $20 per person and is offered on weekends only from Friday, Sept. 29, until Oct. 8. Tickets are available online here.

Since 2007, Sauchuk's has provided Eastern Mass. residents a corn maze a little closer to home.
Sauchuk's "has an exclusive regional contract with the world's largest cornfield company, The Maize," according to its website.
This relationship allows Sauchuk's to "draw a huge network of expertise across the country to bring you word class maze designs."
This year, the maze pays homage to the Boston Bruins and sports a large Bruins emblem off to one side of the field and two crossing hockey sticks on the other.
Onlyinyourstate.com describes Sauchuk's corn maze as a "fully-fledged farm experience," featuring hayrides to the pumpkin patch, corn cannons and jugs of fresh-cider available at the farm store.

This venue, located at 200 Center St., Plympton, is open Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 21 until Nov. 3.
Hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., with the exception of Nov. 3, which closes at 5 p.m. The venue is also open on Columbus Day, also known as Indigenous Peoples Day, on Monday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to order tickets online or call ahead, and should not "assume that you can purchase tickets at the gate."
Tickets purchased online are $19.95 per person 3 years and older and are nonrefundable.
Refundable tickets purchased online are $25.95 per person 3 years and older. Tickets purchased at the gate are $29.95.
Located at 142 Redstone Hill Road, Sterling, Davis Mega Maze is "designed to be the world's best corn maze," and "can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours (or more) to complete," according to Davismegamaze.com.
This maze is described as both mentally and physically challenging and includes eight acres of corn with nearly three miles of "puzzling pathway networks."
The venue offers live music, craft beer, campfire rentals and more.
This year's corn maze theme is Wonka's Sweet Adventure.

Davis Mega Maze is open Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 28, through Oct. 27.
Tickets cost $21.95 for children ages 5 to 12 years old, and $24.95 for individuals 13 years and older.
Those who purchase at the gate pay $25.95 for children 5-12 years old, and $29.95 for those 13 years and older.

A ticket to Wojcik's Farm corn maze at 65 Milk St., Blackstone, includes a free wagon ride and the option of apple picking.
Corn maze prices are $10 for individuals 6 years and older and free for those $5 and under.
Wojcik's is open Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Mike's Maze in Sunderland sits at the foot of Mount Sugarloaf in Western Mass.
Every year, Mike's Maze concocts a "brand new maze, along with themed games that will challenge you to solve puzzles and problems, and lead you on your exploration through the corn," according to its website. This year's theme is "Join the Circus."
Located at 23 S. Main St., Sunderland, the maze is carved into an eight-acre corn field.

Mike's Maze is open for the season from Sept. 6, until Nov. 3.
Prices vary by day, with adult prices being $12 on Fridays and kids, students, seniors and military being $10. Saturday and Sunday costs are $16 per adult and kids, students, seniors and active military being $14.

The Apple Place, located at 540 Somers Road, East Longmeadow, is best known for its rustic charm and country-style bakery.
The venue is a creamery and apple orchard, offering guests who chose to explore this maze a little something to do before and after their exploring.
This year's maze dares guests to be "a'maze'd" at the wandering wizard maze, with features an image of a wizard surrounded by a castle, train, stars and more.
The wandering wizard maze at The Apple Place is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., from Sept. 14, until Oct. 27.
A flashlight-night is offered twice throughout the season on Oct. 5, and Oct. 19, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Those traveling with a furry friend have the opportunity to participate in a "Dog Daze" event on Oct. 27.
